Starfish Coaching · Pricing
Published prices, not a discovery call
Most coaching websites will not tell you. You get "investment varies" and a booking link. So here is the direct answer: hourly coaching runs from about $150 to $500, a block of ten sessions usually lands between $2,500 and $5,000, and monthly retainers run from about $1,000 to $5,000 and up, depending on how deep the coach goes into the business.
About $150 to $500. It is simple, and it makes both sides watch the clock, which is the wrong incentive when the useful conversation is the one that runs long.
Ten sessions bought together, usually priced a little under the hourly rate. It buys continuity more than a discount, because the coach remembers the last conversation and the third session starts where the second finished.
From about $1,000 to $5,000 and up. You are buying a standing relationship rather than a set of appointments. The honest test is to ask: if you do not call, does anything happen? On a retainer that is working, the answer is yes.
A fixed scope over a fixed term, from about $5,000 to $25,000 and up. It is priced on the outcome rather than the hours, which is why it looks expensive and often is not.
These are the prices on the site, and they do not change depending on who is asking.

The detail behind each is on its own page: on-demand advice, the Business Health Check, the Master Plan Program and the Self-Sustaining Business Program.
Group programs run roughly $300 to $700 a month against $2,500 and up for one to one. That is a real saving and the right answer for plenty of owners, because you get structure, a cadence and a room full of people with the same problems.
What you do not get is anyone looking specifically at your numbers. If what you need is discipline and perspective, a group works. If what you need is someone to tell you which of your four crews is losing money, it does not.
One exception is worth stating plainly: group coaching is never the right answer for an owner preparing to sell. The work is too specific to the business and the deadline is real.
The only honest answer is that it depends on a number you can calculate.
At a 6% net margin, a coach who costs $30,000 a year has to generate $500,000 of extra revenue to pay for themselves out of growth alone. That sounds impossible until you notice that it does not have to come from growth. The same $30,000 is repaid by a two-point margin improvement on $1.5 million of revenue, by not making one bad hire, or by catching the estimating error that has been running through every job.
Which is why the first question is never whether you can afford a coach. It is whether you know where your money is actually going. If the answer is no, fix that first, and the free overhead and profit calculator will show you in a minute.
A coach who cannot answer the last two comfortably is telling you something.
In most markets, between $150 and $500 an hour. Starfish Coaching charges $400 for a single 60 minute Pick-My-Brain session, and publishes that price on the site.
Monthly retainers run from about $1,000 at the light end to $5,000 and up. Starfish's Master Plan Program is $2,500 a month where Eric advises and you execute, and $5,000 a month where he drives the plan with you and sits in your management meeting every week. Both carry a six-month minimum.
Because it lets them price by the client rather than by the work. Published pricing is rarer than it should be, and it is a reasonable thing to expect before you book a call.
Yes. Group programs generally run $300 to $700 a month against $2,500 and up for one-to-one. The group buys structure and perspective rather than someone examining your specific numbers.
Starfish's Business Health Check is $2,500, and the full fee is credited if you go on to join the Master Plan Program within one month of receiving your Roadmap.
Generally it can be treated as a business expense when it relates to earning business income, but that is a question for your accountant rather than a coaching website.
The free scorecard scores your business across eight fundamentals in about five minutes, so you know what kind of help you actually need before you spend anything.
